Although I am a new member, I want to join the rest of the Phlatfamily members and wish you a speedy recovery. Sid
Once again, Thank You all for your prayers and well wishes! I have heard the pulmonologist expects test results today, no word yet from the Neurosurgeon, but I expect they'll want to ruin my "beautifully thick and naturally curly hair". I will lurk around and let you know when I learn anything.
Good to see your sense of humor is still alive and well. Best wishes from this side off the world and I hope you have a speedy recovery. We will be holding out thumbs and sending positive vibes your way.
kneedrag - (and all) At times like this, my sense of humor is all I have. This last week has been an unbelievable roller-coaster ride, and I can't even see the exit sign over the dipping, swooping horizon. "What a long, strange trip it's been." "Thy Name is my Healing, and Remembrance if Thee is my Remedy . . . "
No no I have seen Dennis in person, he has that distinguished silver highlighted look going on JK Mark and Trish
Get well soon Dennis, hope to see you back asap, We at the Phlatforum will never give up on a fellow member. Keep went time get tough, and we will all be by yourside with you
It's a strange time for me to learn that there are actually people who really do care about others and for me. We go through so much of our lives saying nice things to folks, but do we often take the time to feel what we are saying, and push that feeling to the other person, to be sure they feel it also? I'm going to spend a LOT more energy trying to get those feelings expressed, for whatever days / weeks /years I have left. I pray I will become more effective at it.
That is a very nice sentiment Big D. You are a Phlatboy, and as fellow Phlatboyz... WE LUFF YOU LONG TIME! I wish you the best.
Dorsal... Get well quickly! It's tough during the Holidays when your down and out... I wish all the best for you and yours this Holiday Season. Remember... "Live to Fly... Fly to Live" it keeps you young! One of your many Friends here on the Phlatforum... Mudman1959 (Lee)
Thanks for the well-wishes and prayers, everyone. I really do appreciate them. Now I have an update: It's ~7 PM 12-22-2010 and we just got home from visiting the Brain Surgeon, then the Admitting Office at the Eden Medical Center. I am scheduled to check in tomorrow @6AM, for tests and preps and by 08:15 PST they will sedate me for brain surgery. The doctor is going to cut open my head, pry around on the motherboard and remove the tumor directly, as they decided that is the best way to treat this tumor. (He swore he would put the pieces of my skull back in place, and would be very careful of the vacuum chamber, so my head doesn't accidentally implode.) Actually they will be using a new MRI image and the Frankendots that are glued to my head already, to know exactly where they are going within 1 millimeter, spherical. Maybe 2 hours in surgery, 3-4 hours recovery, stay at least another day for observations and re-tests, but possible be released back to home on Christmas day. That will depend on how completely they can remove the tumor and how well I am doing, so no promises there. I, personally, am glad they decided to take the "hands-on" approach, as I felt (and the doctor confirmed) that radiation treatment for this tumor would not be the most efficient approach - let's just get in and get it out. So, if you are given to saying prayers, please do. I can and do feel them. Besides, I've never had a surgeon's hands meddling in my brain before.
Your definitely in my prayers Dorsal. You may want tell them to put the ctrl, alt, del keys on there while they're at it. Get well soon!
Dennis I have been thinking about you all day, let us know how everything went when you find something out please. Thanks Mark and Trish
Hey guyz. Great newz! Dennis called us tonight to let us know that his surgery was a success! He thought he would be down and out the next two days so he didn't even bring his laptop with him. We were so surprised and happy to hear from him. His spirits are high and he sounded great! He wanted us to update you all and to thank you for your prayers. He said they really helped as he was being rolled into the operating room At this point, Dennis is looking forward to a Christmas morning release. Please continue to keep him in your prayers for a speedy and full recover. Thank you and Thank God! Mark and Trish
