Baha'i? Are you a Baha'i? As a kid I used to love to go to the gardens of the mausoleum of Aba Safendi. They where always so beautifully kept. Haven't been there in many decades. Maybe I'll go for a stroll in April. Keep up your spirit, my friend!!!
Dorsal I hope you have continued to improve despite the bad news and prove the doctors wrong. Remember its not the amount of time we have thats important but what we do with it that is. I can say you have been a big help to me and I am sure to others. Get better brother!
Now I saw this post, I wish you full health and let my prayer. Lord of life, I, though unworthy, a sinner, I prostrate myself before Your omnipotence to beg the health of our colleague Dorsal (Dennis). Doctor Celeste, grant him good health, if it is according to Your divine will. Amen
If Dennis is on a chemo schedule I can guarantee they will take him to the edge and he'll have to fight his way back :nervous: 'Flight Dennis fight' should be our war cry. :x
Dennis, I had not seen this thread and did not know you were dealing with all of this. It sounds like you are maintaining a sense of humor and man oh man can that make a difference. My thoughts are with you as you work to pull through this ordeal. Chuck
All of my brothers and sisters here in Phlatland, it is with great sorrow that I bring you the news of the passing of one of our PhlatClub members. According to the phone call I just received from his wife, Anne, Dennis went peacefully yesterday at home, thus succumbing to his battle with cancer. The internet is a funny place, you know? I met Dennis right here on the PhlatForum due to our common CNC interests. Those interests evolved from Chat exchanges, to email exchanges, and then on to phone calls. Before I knew it, I had found a co-host for the podcast project. Little did I know that those weekly little chats for the show would eventually lead to our meeting face-to-face (last year in Toledo). From that point, we cemented a true friendship that I know I will never be able to replace now that he's moved on. Though the podcast limits me to publishing only an hour each week, we often spoke 5-6 times more than that each week, discussing ideology, politics, RC, and CNC. Boy, am I going to miss those discussions. Every time I dwell on this for more than a minute, or two, I feel really sad about losing my buddy, but the truth is, I honestly feel in my heart that he is in a better place. He was a very good and faithful man and I'm certain his soul's off enjoying it's rewards now. Knowing this makes me feel much better. If any of you would like to express kind thoughts to Anne and the rest of the family, the following is the address you'll need: Anne Fishback 301 Hunter Trail Tracy, CA 95376 Dorsal, thanks for the great friendship, the thought-provoking conversations, the wisdom you've shared, and all the time we've spent together - it was a great ride, my friend!
Somehow, I felt this day was close at hand. Even though I never met Dennis in person, a common bond has grown with many of us here who hang out on the Phlatforum so his passing is close to the heart of all of us and I know his wife and family will miss him dearly, but he will be close by in ways they may never comprehend. My wife and I experienced a death in our family recently which has come to change the way I think about death (in a good way). I would love to talk about it here, but this is about Dennis, so I will write Anne directly and PM anyone who would like to hear more of my experience. Rest in Peace Dennis
This is truly a sad day for us and for even more so for Dennis's family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to them. Meeting Dennis in Toledo was a great honor. He flew all the way from California and hung out in our booth most of the show telling jokes and keeping us smiling throughout the weekend. He was extremely intelligent and good humored and most of you know from hearing him on The Crash Cast. We are sorry to hear of his passing and we will miss him very much. Please continue to keep his family in prayer. Sincerley, Mark and Trish. Attached files
My prayers go out to Dorsal's family I am really gad that I got to meet and talk with Dennis at Toledo last year. We got to chat a little more at dinner too. He really was a great guy. Fly in peace my friend.
This truelly is a sad time. My heart goes out to the friends and family of Dennis. I never got to meet him face to face but still consider him a friend. Just by chatting with him on the Phlatforum and reading his post on here as well as cnc zone make me realize what a smart and witty person he was. God speed dear friend...GOD SPEED :flying:
Sad news for sure. I got to spend some time with Dennis in Toledo at the booth and walking around the show, and really enjoyed the time. My condolences to his family and friends in this difficult time.
Best to his family and all his good friends here on the forum. I really enjoyed getting to "meet" Dennis on the podcast.
That he may rest in peace, and teach the bearded guy up there some nice things about RC flying... My condolences and thoughts go out to his loved ones.
