Didn't use anything. The weight of the roller was enough. The spring mod just helps give more pressure thats all.

Here is my spring roller mod. The springs I'm using are a bit too stiff, but it works. Thanks for a smart improvement! I have tried cutting MDF, but it moved around too much to get good cuts. This mod might just do the trick. I have an even stiffer spring if the MDF is proving to be slippery even with this mod...

I think it will be a better idea to put the fence mod rather than to use a stiffer spring

JBourdon, i made my own stuff outside the springs....i got my springs from the hardware store. also you can make the sliders out of wood dowel. nothin hi-tech about it.....just to have a lil down pressure on the foam. randy.

Mine are now even dowels. Made them out of a 15mm thick board that sawed into a 15x15x20mm rectangular piece which I sanded to a roundish shape that wouldn't bind. It took a while but it works!

I cut the ply with the phlatprinter using the plans provided here. Spring was bought from the local hardware store. The dowel was cut with a hacksaw
