I am using sketchucam 1.3a to generate gcode for my cnc router (an open builds ox). The code generated is consistently too deep. Today I was working with 12mm thick plywood and the actual cuts were 17.8mm deep. I am certain the extra depth is not a result of lost steps or other problems with hardware because the actual g code sent was for a cutting depth of 17.780. I am using a Mac, grblcontroller, and a spark concepts Xpro board.

I have attached a screenshot that shows the 17.780 cutting depth in the code on the first and seventh lines. I have also attached a screenshot of my settings on my second run (at first I thought it might be a hardware issue so I ran it very slow on the second try).

Please help me figure out what I am doing wrong! Thanks!

Check your In/Outside Overcut Percent. I'll bet yours is set to 150%.

To quote the help, accessible via the helptool_large.png on the toolbar:

    Inside/Outside overcut%
This value is used as a multiplier on the material thickness. The Phlatprinter is designed to cut through sheet material so normal cuts must go deeper than the material thickness. This is normally about 140%, ie through the material and 40% out the other side to account for wavy dollar tree blue foam. If you are using an overhead gantry and do not want to cut into your spoil board then set this value to 100% and zero your toolbit end accurately.
