Here's a Mod I did to light up the cutting area
Its an LED block from pep boys
It even comes with a little JST style plus so that I can easily remove the spindle attachment and connect it to another 12v attachment if needed
I used a 12v power supply plugged into the power strip. so now when my machine is turned on so is the light :)

This one is from Sears... two clip on battery operated LED's in the package. 50 hrs battery life each. $19.99 in the tools department.

Inserted a piece of 1/8th inch balsa into the lower slot on the gantry and clipped the LED there. Also has magnets on the clip. No wires. Attached files [IMG]

Yep! Sure is! Got the new parts in this afternoon and had it back up and running in no time!

Think my X axis stepper current is borderline though. Tomorrow I will bump it up just a bit. I got the Micro Kenetic Energy parts cutout and was on the last 2 passes of the last cut when my X axis missed some steps and the bit started gouging into the MDF forcing me to shut it down.

Almost there!!!! What a sweet machine! This is going to be so awesome with all the possibilities it brings!

Yeah I thought that it may be a little much for that flex shaft spindle I think its better kept with foam. I am hoping with the laminate routers (attachment) speeds an bit choices we will see less load and better results. can't wait for that. So much to try and experiment with there's just not enough time in a day
Thank you for the kind words

I've been on the lookout for an easy bit light and found something that is workable at Target today. I think it is intended to be a battery operated LED reading light. It has a flexible shaft and a clip to attach. Seems to work OK. It was around $5 I think.
