Hey Mark, I'm lazy and getting tired of spelling out "P h l a t P r i n t e r". I had to write it on the back of my hand just to remember how to spell it. ;)
Could you make one of those auto-replacement scripts so all I have to type is " PP " (that's a space, two capital P's and a space) and it will automatically be replaced by " PhlatPrinter " (don't forget the leading and trailing spaces) ?????
    Please, please, pretty please?
Oh, you can let anybody else use it too, if they're lazy like me.

Hmm I will look into it, there must be some way to do it.
    Mark

EDIT * Ok I think I have it figured out.
If you type p p or P P (no spaces)it should replace it with Phlatprinter
If you type p s or P S(no spaces) it should replace it with PhlatScripT

    Test
    ps
    pp
    PS
    PP
    It works :)

Okay Mark, here's another one -
I notice there is an announcement banner at the top of the "Board Index" page "http://www.phlatforum.com/index.php", but I have my bookmark set to "http://www.phlatforum.com/search.php?search_id=newposts" which shows me the new posts automatically. The "newposts" page doesn't have an announcement banner, so if I hadn't gone to the "Board Index" page I wouldn't have seen you blabbing to everyone about this new shorthand function.
Could you add a duplicate announcement banner to the "newposts" page also? Make both (all?) banners read the same data so you type once and all banners get fixed simultaneously?

Ok I poked around a little and I do not think I can do that one, because it is set up to run two seprate banners and to certian groups on the forms. For example the guest see a completly different announcment then the registered users and so on.
Maybe as we go I will figure it out but for now thats what I can do, sorry bout that

    More requests:
pc or PC for Phlat-Code (politically correct? What's that anyway?)
ph or PH for Phlat-Head (acidity readings will be seldom used on this forum)
PITA for guys who keep asking for more goodies.

    Ok here's what we have so far;

    Word Replacement
    M & T = Mark & Trish
    M n T = Mark & Trish
    P C = PhlatCode
    P P = PhlatPrinter
    P S = PhlatScripT
    S U = SketchUP
    m t = Mark & Trish
    p c = Phlatcode
    p p = Phlatprinter
    p s = PhlatScripT
    s u = SketchUp
    P Z = PhlatBoyZ
    p z = PhlatBoyZ
Remember to type the code with (no spaces)
If you want to call someone a Phlathead you'll just have to type it out :D

On another note they have just updated to phpbb3.04
I am delaying the upgrade untill I see they have all the bugs ironed out. Not really any new additions but a lot of bug fixes. I have checked out the list but nothing really too bad for us here

    LOL.. Thanks bro.
    Your welcome
The next mod I am looking at with this forum is to figure out a way to make it return you to your post instantly after you submit. I hate having to wait for the meta to kick in and return us.

I'm not sure if it can be done since most boards have the same problem where you have to wait a few seconds to be redirected. Most of them take about 10sec.

    Yoram

It took this one less then 8sec.Not bad at all

    ps PS
Ah-Ha! both of the PhlatScript shorthand / shortcuts have ceased to function! I wonder why? :(
I'll bet they'll need to be typed (space)p s(space) or the word "tips" will become "tiPhlatScript"

    Ok should work now Dennis,
I think it was taken off because people adding PS to the bottom of a post or PM where getting the Phlatscript showing up
Now if you type P(space)S or p(space)s it should should work fine :)
    Thank you
    Mark and Trish
