I've modified Steve Shumate's (jetset44) S.U.-37 plans to allow for twin 64mm edfs. Currently the plane has the following specs:

    wingspan: 35.5"
    edf: 2x 64mm EDFs
    motor: 2x 3500KV
    ESC: 2x 45Amp
Battery: 4S 3300 mAh 35C (actually with this power setup the current draw is 63Amps, so at 3300mA a 20C is fine)
Servos: ail (2), elv (2), rud (2) thrust vector (3 servos, yaw, pitch, roll on 2 TV nozzles)

    Here are some pictures: Attached files 64mm_210mm_57mm_TT.dxf (92.4 KB)Â [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] Su-37 EDF Plans 120% canopy and nose.pdf (61.7 KB)Â Su-37 EDF Plans 120%.skp (4.5 MB)Â

This is the prototype I was working on. This particular design uses a 28" wingspan (not big enough) but used the same power system. Plenty of power and speed but the wing loading was very high. I've included video on some flying as well as the working TV system.

Awesome plane! The 'Terminator' has been my personal favorite modern plane for quite some time. Ever since I saw videos back in the 90's of the Pugachev maneuvers defying gravity and aerodynamics, I've been hooked on it.

I've got a Shumate Su37 that's about 60% finished but sitting on a shelf waiting for me to find the time to work on it.

Lovely design. You've taken it significantly further with the TV nozzles and EDF. Did you do anything special to clean up the airflow in the efflux tube area? The TV nozzles-did you fab them yourself or are they like the Hobby Lobby ones?

Thanks for the kind words. The elevators do not go through the nacelles unlike jetset44's design, they are more like tomhe's flat foamie design. The TV-nozzles are from the Hobby Lobby SU-34 fullback. I modified the design to be able to use them.

Some more pictures of my progress. Going real slowly, trying to figure it out as I go. Lots of test fitting.

I finally got it to a point where I can maiden it. AUW is 53oz, but it has more than its weight in static thrust. The final specs are:

    9 servos - 2 Ail, 2 Elv, 2 Rudder, 3 TV servos
    Battery - 4S 3300mAh 35C
    wingspan - 35"
    edf - 2x 64mm EDFs
    motor - 2x 3500KV
    ESC - 2x 45Amp
    AUW - 53oz

Here some more pictures. I finally started to spackle it sand, sand, sand and sand some more. I love the shape of this plane, it looks so menacing. I'm so blessed to be given the opportunity to modify it and convert it into an edf. The design, and build was all made possible by people like you in forums like this. Thank you all. I'm still not done. It still needs to be painted.

Well, I didn't like my original paint scheme so I decided to strip it off and start over. Thank heavens for Windex! I decided to go with the Ace Combat Yellow 13 paint scheme. I'm mostly done now but you can see my progress.

So far I've painted the top but left the belly white to save some time and weight. I've put it panel lines, missiles, and some engine detail. What I have left to do is create the markings (insignia, number, etc.), stick them on, clear coat the entire plane do some weathering <whew>.
