I see a lot of folks havin trouble with using decimal mode in sketchup. The advantage to using decimal mode is the ability to control you accuracy in dimensions and such, and well for all you Phlatheads out there, you all own a very accurate piece of equipment! (So use it :)) Hopefully this will help you guys make the convert, open this up and print it out and hang it next to you monitor, it’s a fraction to decimal conversion table to be used as a quick reference!

Better yet, use it as a background in sketchup so it will always be available :)
If you make up a template file, and it will come up as default each time you make a new drawing.
Here's a google spreadsheet if you want to edit it:

Good idea . I got a straight forward version of that myself. Always referencing it.

Why don't you all just start using the METRIC system? Then the need for such a conversion table is gone! ;)

I just added a nice toolbar plugin for those of you who like to stay modeling in inches but want to use metric for certain things like tabs and slots, motor mount holes, etc.
    I posted it here http://www.phlatforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=381.
This one has helped me tremendously.

Good chart. Switching to decimal is the way to go. It's something I was always bringing up at the 'big meetings' back in the day(80's). But noooooooooo, they had to do the 1/128th standard, and the metric system was completely out of the question.

Personally I'm all for the Metric system in all flavors, it's the way it should be. Along with losing the cent and the paper dollar then rounding to the nearest nickel.
