    Hello everyone,

I have some difficulties in carrying out some letters made with Text 3D in sketchup and PhlatscripT.

When I select a letter from outside the tool cut tool, it happens that you see in the picture attached: the outline wasted outside the safe area with the wrong coordinates.
The 'A' is a Text 3D object, filled with no extrusion.

    Everything else works fine.

I am using win7 Italian, and SketchUp 8.0.4811 PhlatscripT 0924.

    The resulting g-code file:

    %
    (Generated by PhlatscripT {0924})
    (Bit diameter: 0.002 m)
    (Feed rate: 0.300 m)
    (Material Thickness: 0.006 m)
    (Material length: 0.300 m X width: 0.200 m)
    (Overhead Gantry: false)

    What's wrong? Any suggestion?

    Thanks.

    Hi Domenico and WELCOME.
Wow... that's a weird one. No real G-Code is easy... The red A (your code) is outside the safe area. Anything out of the safe area is not going to generate code.

Big question.. why is the red A where it is? I have done 3D text quite a bit, but I forget the exact sequence I use as I just do it so to speak. FWIW, I use SU 7. Not sure if it is treated differently in 8

If I remember correctly the 3D text is a group. You will need to ungroup to apply the PhlatScript. (Right click the object, then explode)

Have you tried something simple like a square to see if you get the same results?

BTW, I was in Rome last year. What a BEAUTIFUL city with VERY friendly folks.
