There has to be an easier way to transfer a part of a drawing to another drawing without importing the whole thing and deleting 99% of it.

Hopefully its something simple I'm missing.

I simply open the file in Sketchup and select the part I want to import, hold down 'control' and hit 'C' for copy then I open the file I want to copy those parts into and hit 'control' 'P' to paste them in.
    Hope this helps

Thanks, that works, I've always been a right clicker and never really used a real keyboard shortcut. Problem solved with a simple macro within my onscreen fitaly keyboard.

You can use the same option under (edit tab) also to cut , copy, paste and a paste in place.

That is weird, I've looked for that time and time again. It's the way it should be.

It hit me last night. Just open another instance of SU and work between them. That's going to speed up work flow on the bigger files :D
